Emmy and Will

I'm sorry I've been a while not posting. It's hard to get on the computer and type when you have a baby who doesn't like to be put down for long. When I do get her down, I have bottles to wash or clothes to fold or diapers to throw in the washer or a meal to fix. Let's not even talk about how many thank you notes remain unwritten. It's a bit embarassing how far behind I am. I haven't even finished several for gifts or meals brought while I was in the hospital. Ugh. So if you are one of these lovely people patiently waiting, I haven't forgotten I promise. And, if you're judging me a little, it's okay, and feel free to come do some housework for me. Ha!

Emmy got to meet Will this weekend. Aren't they the cutest? Will's Mama and Daddy, Lisa and Lucas, are two of our dear friends from Wofford (and members of our infamous New Year's gathering of "Da Group"). It has been fun experiencing having a newborn while they've been going through the same thing, not to mention we can commiserate with each other. They came down for a visit Saturday and we're oh so glad they did! We had a lovely day and the babies posed for a quick photo shoot. Oh, and Mona and Rags enjoyed playing together, too. Now we all can't wait for Baby Stella to join Da Group: The Next Generation later this summer.

We've had lots of visitors lately: my cousins, Jessica and Joanna, came down Sunday morning for the day; the CG of Charles' unit came over Sunday afternoon to meet Emmy; our friends Jessica and David came over with their little boy, Atticus, and brought us a delicious dinner; Jim and Jamie and Joan and Charles came to take a peek; and today our friend Jennie took the day off to come spend it with us. Yay! We had a great day!

It's been four weeks now that she has been home from the hospital, so we've felt more comfortable taking Emmy out and about. She always does great and I think we need to get a recording of a large crowd to play for her at night to make her sleep. She went with us to the funeral home on Friday to visit our friend April's family (her beloved 90 year old grandfather passed away), we took her to Mexifeast with Greg, Judith, Joel and Mary Ann earlier this week, we ventured to the grocery store for the first time, and yesterday we went back to the lactation consultant at the hospital and visited my friend Michelle and her new baby Jaxson. Tonight I took her with me to choir rehearsal for the last few minutes so I could rehearse music for our friends' wedding next Saturday. This weekend she'll make her first trip to the lake for the church picnic and to church for the first time. She's becoming a girl on the go!

Pictures of many of these events (when I remembered to photograph them) are in our Picasa albums. If you are needing a fix, I tend to get photos uploaded more often than a post written.

  1. I actually started this on Monday and didn't finish and post it until Wednesday, but it still shows as a Monday post.
