Cute ruffles on her bottom, huh? No, it's not the ruffles making her rear end look so huge. It's the cloth diapers we are finally able to use! They do look a little ridiculous on her still because they add a lot of visual bulk to her tiny frame. We're glad they fit, though, and we're able to use to start using them. I bought some of the tiniest covers and preemie pre-folds I could find while I was on bed rest and so far, so good. I even washed my first load today with success and dried them in the sun (which really does bleach out stains). I feel like all that research and chatting with other cloth diapering Moms has paid off!Speaking of moms, we're so grateful for my mom's help this week. We've had a good week and been well fed and cared for. And we know we've gotten some extra sleep thanks to her extra hands. She is heading home tomorrow and we haven't killed each other yet! Thanks, Mom, for everything!
Emmy's still working on sleeping in her crib or pack-n-play at night. She slept for almost a 4 hour stretch last night...of course that was in the bed with us, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm not opposed to co-sleeping, I just don't think it's for me. Emmy, however, currently disagrees, so we're working on a happy medium.
There's some fun news to share, but I must go for now. It's Emmy's dinnertime, so I'll post that later on.
Cloth diapers? Eeeewwwww. I had no idea you were so granola! When are you going to bring Emmy for a visit to Greenville? The 407 Meyers Dr. Hawleys want to meet her!
ReplyDeleteI always thought Jimmy slept better on/with us because we were warm. He started to sleep alone when I dressed him warmer or added a blanket. Although the house was already warm and we were sweaty our butts off, I guess he was still cold. That's my thoughts anyways.

yay! I'm glad to see that you and Emmy (and Charles) are home finally and doing well. AND...cloth diapers are the bomb! I'm always excited to hear about people cloth diapering...we've been doing it since the get go with Ben. To make us even more crunchy, we're even doing a little EC...I haven't changed a poopy diaper in about a month. You have to try it. It's amazing. :-)

ReplyDeleteDanielle, yes, we've got the house warmer and we're keeping hats on her at night. She hates having her arms swaddled, so long sleeves at night are a must. She always wiggles them out. :) She's a little heater, though, she's always so warm!
Jess - we can't really travel with her now, but hopefully in July. If you want to come down before then, just let me know what day you're thinking about.
DUDE I will come down any time!! Well, pretty much any time--I'm free every Friday for the whole month of June, and then after that I'm free every weekday in July. So pretty much any Friday--you just have to give me directions since I've never been to your casa!
