Aunts come to visit

We've had a nice few days. Thursday night our friend Julie brought dinner by and met Emmy. We went to college together and she and I are sorority sisters. We reconnected (thanks to facebook) this fall around the time she found out she was moving to Augusta. It's been nice having her in town!

My sister and her friend Erica came down Friday night. Meredith was glad to have company in the car and Erica was dying to see Emmy as well. Aunt Mer LOVED getting to hold her niece for the first time, as you may imagine. We just spent a lot of time hanging out and Mer cooked for us. Erica wrote a 20 page paper for her grad school class and Emmy contributed in her own way by sleeping on her chest some of the time while she typed. (Just like she is with me right now!) Both of them took tons of photos, some of which I uploaded with our Picasa pictures. It was a great weekend and we hated to see them go.

Yesterday evening Charles' Aunt Mary Lou came by to meet Emmy. She just had arrived into town to spend the night with a friend who lives here, and the two of them headed out for a road trip today. So here's a photo of 3 generations.

Emmy is doing well! To us it seems like she's getting heavier, even though we know she's still so tiny. It's all perspective! We take her back to the pediatrician later this week for a weight check. We suspect she may have a mild case of reflux, but we'll see. It's creating some breastfeeding challenges since she is pulling away a lot, but she's still eating well and today has been better. She is trying hard to hold her head up, which she can do for a few seconds, and she really can move herself around on your shoulder, so you have to look out! She's starting to focus on objects and faces and her dark blue eyes are getting lighter. Of course it is fun watching her grow! Here she is yesterday when we were taking some photos in an attempt to get a good one we can eventually put with a birth announcement. This outfit was WAY too big on her 2 weeks ago! Now it's just a little big. :)
